Discovering Antique Maps

A single session workshop at Trinity Centre, Carlisle
with John Higham of Souvenir Antiques / Cumbria Maps
Thursday 29th March 2012, 7 - 9 pm

Using mainly maps of Cumberland as examples, this workshop will trace the history of map making England and western Europe from the earliest printed maps of the late 16th century to the completion of the ordnance survey towards the end of the 19th century.

The workshop will use a power-point style of presentation as well as actual maps and the course materials will be made available to students after the course via the internet.
