Map of Cumberland and Westmorland by Christopher Saxton, 1576

Christopher Saxton's An Atlas of England and Wales (1579) was the first printed atlas of England.  Saxton grouped counties together where convenient like this map of Cumberland and Westmorland.  It was engraved by Augustus Ryther one of the most accomplished engravers of the age and is dated 1576. The map measures 18.25 by 15 inches.
